My baby is asleep with both our babies on the top of him

Yesterday we took this little ball of fur called Little Sister to the groomers. Imagine my surprise when we picked up the transformation of this little ball of fur. She became a beautiful toy poodle. I could not believe this was the same dog. I believe she was surprised too because now she could see the world. It took her all day before she could become the Tasmania devil again. She runs through the house at break neck speeds and aggravates Ms Sassie. When she did that I knew it was her.

Lizard Alert!!!!!!!

As I was coming into the house the other day with the poodles, a lizard snuck into the kitchen as I opened the back door. I watched for him for a time, because they always scare me. I hated that I could not catch him and put him back outside.

I had forgotten all about the little sucker until this morning when I moved some potholders on the kitchen counter and he jumped out at me. I screamed of course. Guyk yelled what's the matter. I told him LIZARD ALERT!!!!

The lizard remains in the kitchen I guess waiting to scare me one more time.

Our first grooming.

Our new poodle pup, Little Sister, goes for her first grooming appointment tomorrow. She is in a constant state of wiggling except when she is asleep. I would not want to be the one that grooms her. I am also apprehensive about leaving her. You have to trust people to do their job and take care of your pup or do it yourself. If I did it, she would be a raggedy pup. I fell out with the person that groomed Ms Sassie. They used an electric razor. Her facial area would be down to her bare skin. We have not taken Ms Sassie for grooming in months. She is loosing her hair anyway and she can't get her breath. We just try to keep her comfortable.

Sassie Poodle and Sassie's Little Sister

Sassie poodle will be 14 years old in December. We came home from vacation with a new poodle pup, we named, Sassie's Little Sister. We named her this because the name is easily transferable when we only have the pup. Little Sister was 5 months old yesterday. She is so smart. She is almost potty trained.

Before vacation we could come home from the grocery store and be home for 15 to 20 minutes and Sassie would not even know we were home. I would have to go pet her to wake her up. She would be sleeping so soundly that I could not tell if she was breathing. My heart ached. But now with Little Sister, she keeps me so busy and laughing all the time, my heart is lighter for poor little Sassie.

It is strange because Little Sister torments Sassie, yet Sassie seems to be better over all. She eats better and runs around more trying to get away from Little Sister. But Sassie still looses her air when she moves to fast. Little Sister is relentless and has no guilt about pestering the old dog.

Little Sister was just chasing a piece of towel we tied into a knot, but yesterday, she chased the tennis ball when I threw it. Previously, she would bark at the tennis ball but not chase it. I threw the rotten towel away. The ball requires much more effort on Little Sister's part and it is a lot of fun for me to throw it and watch her slip and slide on the floor.

Now Little Sister has much less energy to chase Sassie. Sassie is a loving little poodle but Little Sister is aggressive and barks a lot. Instead of giving you a hug, Little Sister bites you. We are still working on the COME command. She only comes when she wants whatever you have in your hand to eat.

I hope to see major improvements by the time she is 6 months old.

Plug that hole!

I pretended I was in the movie, "Pretty Women" where the star covers the divots with her shoe after the polo game. Actually, we moved plugs of grass from one place in the yard to another and filled the original hole with dirt. When you have lots of money you go buy the plugs and place them where needed. Oh, well, we had a good time on a good project to improve the looks of our lawn.

Tomorrow, more of the same exercise.

How great to be a blogger.

A lot of you have told me that you feel you know me because Guyk has talked about me so much. I feel the same way about a lot of you because Guyk has talked about how much he enjoys talking to you and reading your blogs. In addition, several of you are responsible for Guyk having a blog.

Guyk's spirit was so uplifted when he began his own blog. He is so intelligent and he has a way of telling a really good story. When we go on trips, he gives me history lessons on the various areas as we pass through. Makes the trip shorter.

My blog has been made so much more enjoyable because I have met so many of you. When I met you, I had not read your blogs because Guyk spent so much time at the computer and I am a slow reader. Plus his office is set up for him, chair and all. But since we came back from vacation, I have taken over the laptop and created my own space in the dinning room.

If you have not been to a blog meet, you should really try to go. I am basically a shy person but I allowed Guyk to push me into the blog mets we have attended because I knew how much he wanted to go.

On our way to Kerrville, Texas, Guyk continued to tell me about those of you that he hoped would attend. I had met Catfish and Livey previously in Georgia at Catfish's home. Catfish and his wife live in the woods in Georgia. They also have plenty of room to park an RV. We did not have an RV at the time, but we do now.

At Kerrville, I met Shoe and her children, Erica, Becky, the shoe polish culprit, Hammer, Walrilla and Robert, Leslie, Jerry the confabulator, Denny, Jimbo, Matt(who I just discovered is the Baboon Pirate), Jerry Wiley, Jim Seigler, Nancy and her husb and Richie the pup.

While we were at Kerrville Guyk turned 65. The group gave him an hilarious birthday party. They gave him placks telling him how great he was and signed them on the back. He treasures them very much.

After Kerrville, I met Rex and Denise, Rex's dad Hershel, and Dear Marian and Dear Bob at Rex's hunting lodge at the Christmas Place. They have up their 4 of July plans to put us up for a few days. We were on our way home from Oklahoma.

It wasn't until we got home, that Guyk set me up a blog site with the help of several of you great bloggers. It was at that time that I first saw your blogs. Some of you have been at it awhile. Others are fairly new but not as new as me.

All of you have made me feel very welcome. You have encouraged me and made me feel very special. In addition, it is easier to go to my exercise program because you have praised me so much for doing it.

You have enriched my life so much. I am very proud to be on your blog role.

Thanks.

It was a good day.

While I was getting dressed for my exercise program, my mate decided to exercise his right as husband and it sounded like a good idea so I decided to exercise my right as wife. My weight lifting program and my treadmill exercise was good probably because I had a good start with bedroom acrobatics.

The day was complete with fresh green beans, new potatoes, corn, corn bread, and fresh tomatoes.

The lesson for the day is how to use bookmarks when blog rolling will not work.

What a day!

I went to the eye doctor this morning and then I was not able to see for hours and hours after they dilated my eyes. The good part is I do not have to go back for a year.

Our neighbor was busy attempting to kill armadillos as we went to the eye doctor. Guyk and the neighbor are going to make a joint effort to make them go away.

We stopped by the vegetable market on the way home from the doctors office. Between the two of us we could not remember that we needed lettuce. We discovered the watermelon we bought was bad after we got home.

My mentor has informed me that I must check all my links for accuracy once I have posted my blog. He is going to show me how.

This blog is turning into work, but I love learning new things.

Here's hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Well the security situation was solved today. We managed to get it down loaded after calling them on the phone.

The I hate Walmart song on joated is exactly how Guyk feels about walmart. He often tells me that I walk slow except when I enter walmart. Then he states he sees me one minute and the next I am gone.

I liked Chevy Rose's article and Guyk's comment on it.

Leslie has the answer to Erica's too many boobs on our blogs. I could not wait to see how Erica would answer this one, but I soon found it in the comment section. Best laugh of the day.

I found Erica at Jimbo's place too, in the comment section.

BobG was a good read today. Guyk and I throughly enjoyed it.

Thanks for coming by my blog again.

My frustration overflowth!

I had to go to the doctor today. This was enough to frustrate me but then the computer put a pop up on the screen that said my security was expiring and did I want to renew. The pop up stayed on screen a moment and then was gone. I could not get any straight forward answers from security. Then Guyk tells me that the pop up might be a virus.

By now I am ready for my nervous breakdown. Back home from doctor, open computer, look at security, it says it is fine, no action needed.

What a relief. Now I can enjoy my blog again.

Dear George

There is no way I can compete with Guyk. I don't even try. Did you read his Sunday school lesson on his blog today? I can't wait for part 2.

Guyk is a redneck, and always will be. I am a women's libber when he allows me to be.

Thanks for your comment. Please come by again.

There is a method to my madness.

I completed another exercise program this morning before I would allow myself to open my computer. Boudicca contends that most people can't handle this kind of exercise mentally or physically. But there is a method to my madness, because in July of 2006, I had a laminectomy with fusion of spinal discs 4 & 5. This was all pinned together with 4 titanium screws. In addition, I have osteopenia.

Exercise builds new bone. In addition, exercise makes your muscles stronger and allows your bones to work easier. My back surgery was very successful because I had a good surgeon, good home care, and I am addicted to exercise because I can remember what it was like prior to surgery. If I fail to exercise, I will be back to square one again because I am 65 years old now. The older you get the easier it is to loose the strength you have built up.

Becky states she rides her bike 6 miles a day which is great except she is dependent on the weather. I use to ride my bike 20 miles each week-end when I worked. It is great to be outdoors when you exercise.

Erica needs help in getting her exercise program started. The longer you wait the harder it gets. Erica, find you a good looking personal trainer, today!!!!!

Taken for granted

Guyk said on my blog today that he told me he was proud of me. But Guy is always proud of me and I forget about him when I am writing on the blog. He is family so I guess he doesn't count. I take him for granted a lot. But he is my rock and I am very dependent on him. I do not mind picking up after him, because I can remember the time when I wished he was around to make a mess for me to pick up. We both spoil each other and that is perfectly alright in my book. He will always be the love of my life.

That's a girl, sweetthing!

I did my upper body exercises with 10 lb weights and stayed on the tread mill for 45 minutes. The trouble with the tread mill is that you don't have a cheering section, where at the lake there was always someone to cheer me on. So I must rely on my new blogger friends to say good job!

We worked in the yard and had some of that great catfish for lunch.

It was a good day. Thanks for coming by.

Brain Dead?

After I wrote it's all in how you look at it, I found several bloggers who had been there and done that.

The ability to be a blogger makes it a very much smaller world. But it's also like work because as Guyk keeps telling me, I must write today and everyday if I expect other bloggers to read my site.

As I read other bloggers, I found I throughly enjoyed MOM IS WHACKO . Best laugh I have had all day except for new pup when she is tired. She is on the leash & Sassy & I are going outside to potty, the pup becomes a rag mop. She just slides across the kitchen floor standing only when we actually open the back door.

Thanks for coming by my site. I'm brain dead after taking all that junk to the landfill. Two trips. Our yard looks so much better.

Thanks again.

LOOK MOM! NO HANDS!

My exercise today consisted of using the weed-eater while Guyk got to play with his toy. As you can see, he is having a good time. No pictures of me. I was covered head to toe with long shirt and pants because all that stuff eats me alive. The weed-eater always manages to throw something at me and making me cuss. I feel better now that it is done.

It's all in how you look at it.

I was amazed at Chevy Rose's article on 7-18-07. Not only surprised at what she said & how she said it but I rolled on the floor laughing & I was amazed at her ability to think in this manner.

Here I am very serious about physical exercise, in fact, serious about everything, & she does and exercise in semantics!

Guyk and I graduated from college after he retired. His degree was in history and mine was in psychology.

I chose to work for the state of Florida for the dept of children and families. Humor was frowned upon. Being appropriate & politically correct was the name of the game.

Then there were the forms. Fill in the appropriate spaces with no mistakes.

Since I retired several years ago, I have tried to move away from this cubicle but after so many years of training it still remains hard to break out of the box.

Thanks Chevy Rose for making my day so much lighter. You have a great gift in how you look at the world. Thanks.

Thanks for the links

I want to thank Livey,Erica,Chickie, and
Joated, for the links to my new site. I would have done it earlier but Guyk was grumpy and
wouldn't show me how.

sorry, sorry, sorry

I apologize to all you great bloggers. my last post was all caps and I was informed by Guyk that that was like yelling at every one. Sorry.

I got back on my tread-mill this morning. It was very hard to get back on it since I have been away from it for over 3 months while we have been on vacation. But I was able to see the lake in Okla where we fished while I walked. Exercise is addictive too. now all I have to do is find the energy to exercise and write this blog, what the hell I'm retired, right?

The puppy learned to jump on the couch and the bed. There will be no sleeping late now!!!!!!

testing one and a two and a three and a

HELLO BLOG WORLD

I am brand new to the blog world. I love the fact that the older generation no longer has to be shut-in unless they just want to be. Some seniors are afraid of the internet, but others are very active in this rapid communication that can be not only about bad things but good things too.

My husband and I grew up with the understanding that at a certain age this is what you are expected to do. No more. Now seniors can do whatever they feel they are big enough to do.

I would enjoy hearing from other seniors who are retired military wives, love dogs, like exercise, and love being alive today in this scary but wonderful world.
Testing one two and a
