Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone. This has been a great year for me. I have so enjoyed the blogging world.

We are going to have a quiet Christmas. Just us, the pups, the birds and the squirrels.

We have about 3 weeks before we leave for Ga to get Guyk's teeth pulled. We are hoping he will feel better after that. He has to get his shoulder fixed too. Have not heard what the MRI showed.

I hope everyone has a great new year. Thanks for coming by. See you soon.

Guyk made a beautiful bird feeder for our neighbor. We are going to pick up the pipe today to put it up.

Headache gone

My headache was gone this morning. I was able to do my exercise program. I even added 20 set-ups to my program. I would like to add 20 push-ups but they are harder. I managed about 10 half push-ups. I will just keep working on it everyday until I get it right.

It is difficult for me to exercise when I think about how old I am. I will be 66 years old in Feb 08. When I was growing up 50 was old. But I see people exercising at all ages now days. I just keep remembering that exercise builds muscles and new bones.

It even rained this morning. It is a beautiful day today. Sun is shinning and about 70 degrees.

Thanks for coming by. See you soon.

Re-Gifting?

H2O awarded me this color of friendship that Erica had awarded her. Is this what they call re-gifting?

I thought it was very nice of H2O and Erica. I love writing on my blog and having others respond. We have made many friends through the internet. I believe I will award this color of friendship to JDP andHammer.

Sick headache again!

I have had a sick headache all week. Last week my exercise program was going well. I did fine until Monday. Last Wednesday, Guyk blew off his heart doctor appointment. On Friday, he went and got a flu shot even though he did not want to. But he said I just insisted, so he went.

The problem as I see it is that I try to have some control over keeping my husband healthy. But I realize that I have no control over anything.

My heart went out to Chevy Rose because her husband needed heart stints but he told her he would do the stints but if they had to open him up, no way. For her to tell the doctors no. This was a lot to put on a spouse even if you are 80 years old. As it turned out, she reports the stints went fine and all is well.

I am hoping to begin my exercise program again tomorrow. When I get to do my exercise program, is when I feel my best. I sleep good and all my plumbing works well.

Thanks for coming by. See you soon.

Every home needs one of these

I got this picture from JDP. I hope he doesn't mind that I stole it. I thought it was something that everyone would want. No? I don't blame you.

Anniversary approaching

We will be married 44 years on the 30th of this month. Guyk continues to amaze me on his ability to tell a story. I hope we have many more years to come together. I love you, Guy.

Santa came early

Guyk bought me 4 DVD's for Christmas. He got Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Shrek the third, Fantastic 4, Rise of the Silver Surfer, and Pirates of the Caribbean, At World's End. I loved Harry Potter and the Fantastic 4. The Shrek was OK and the Pirates was like the never ending story.

I will watch Harry again and again because each time I watch it I see something different. I will watch the Fantastic 4 several times before I tire of it, but I like the original better.

We winterized the travel trailer today. It is suppose to rain and turn cold, with possible freeze in our area. Our weather has been just beautiful lately.

I hope everyone has a warm and safe holiday.

Thanks for coming by. See you soon.

Flirting Robots

You go to a chat room and connect with some one really interesting, you think. Then it turns out to be a robot that is out to steal your personal information. And according to Instapundit it is hard to tell the difference.

It sure does put a damper on "how I met my mate on line."

One more romantic theory bits the dust.

Thanks for coming by. See you later.

It looked simple enough!

We have been working on the travel trailer for our trip in mid-Jan08 going to Ga to get all Guyk's teeth pulled.

The task was to remove the old weather stripping and replace it with new. It seemed fairly straight forward. The top of the old weather stripping fell off with the touch of a finger but the sticky base was there to stay.

I ended up with 409 spray, goff off spray, a putty knife, and wire brush. After expending a lot of elbow grease and soaking wet from the sun, I finally get it to come clean enough so that the new can be applied.

I did this task and then my exercises and now I am tired.

Guyk will put on the new stripping.

Thanks for coming by. See you soon.

Guyk's Sunday school lessons

I love Guyk's Sunday school lessons. He has a way of making a simple story interesting and at the same time teaching you something of the origins of other people around the world.

Maybe that is why Islam is so violent. They are all mad because they are all bastards.

Well, get over it and get on with your life and let me get on with mine.

Thanks for coming by. See you soon.

How time flies

My last post was on Tuesday and today is Saturday. Well Friday we went to walmart and vet. I can't remember what we did Wednesday or Thursday. Oh, well.

Today I did all the end of the month things and tomorrow I do flea meds and then I am done with my monthly chores again.

It sure is nice to be in Florida and look at the weather up North. Glad we live here.

Thanks for coming by. See you soon.

Pack Rats

We cleaned out our storage shed again. Now we have the utility trailer full and the storage shed looks pretty good. It won't stay that way long. We seem to be constantly collecting things. We are like pack rats. We hate to throw anything away because we might need it.

One thing for sure. We both ran out of energy. We are both tired puppies this afternoon. It was a good day.

Thanks for coming by. See you soon.

Little Sister Poodle

Little Sister poodle managed to get her toy, the braided rope, around her neck. She will be 9 months old tomorrow.

Poinsettias are beautiful

Guyk brought me home a beautiful poinsettia plant today. My mom used to grow them in her front yard, but she lived in Tampa and it is much warmer there than here in Homosassa.

Guyk usually does a Sunday school lesson on Sunday's but he just couldn't get there today. I look forward to his Sunday school lessons. He is a good story teller.

Thanks for coming by. See you.

We enjoyed a very pleasant thanksgiving yesterday. Good food and good company is hard to beat. It actually rained yesterday. It was a welcome sight. We have been so dry.

Thanks for coming by. See you later.

This is a brave soul.

This guy, Kenny not only had one knee replaced, he had both knees replaced!

Yesterday he got in his truck and chased down his dogs that had accidentally gotten out of the house.

Guyk has this same problem. Both his knees are shot. But I don't see him having them both fixed at once, but you never know.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

We are having game hens. We wanted fresh ones but we could not find them. The frozen ones were half-price so it was a good deal. Fresh green beans, frozen corn, sweet and white potatoes, dressing and pumpkin pie. I am going to bake the pumpkin pies tomorrow while Guyk is at the doctor.

Guyk has a tooth ache today. I sure hope we make it to Ga in mid Jan before he has to have any pulled. I know he does too.

We are staying home. If you are traveling, have a safe trip.

All is right with my world

I was able to do my exercise program today, so my headache is better, thank god. The weather is beautiful. Guyk is working on his bird feeder.

Little Sister Poodle cooperated today so that I could brush her teeth. I generally have to chase her down. She'll be 9 months old on the 26th of this month.

I hate sick headaches

My sick headache was in charge today. My exercise program went by the wayside because I had to take anti-seizure & tylonal pills with my breakfast. These pills and my treadmill do not go together. I was afraid of falling so the best thing to do is just let the exercise program be today.

Yesterday I exercised even though I had a headache but I waited until lunch time to take my pills. I was hoping I could work thru the headache but no dice. This is day three of my headache so I hope it is about done with me.

Guyk is building another bird feeder for our beautiful birds. We have a whole new selection to look at when it gets really cold up north and they are hungry.

We had frost on our truck this morning. It was very cold. It has been a nice sunny day today.

Bumper Sticker

Finding a hairdresser

We finally found a hairdresser we both like. She gave me a great haircut. She cut Guyk's hair like he wanted and trimmed his beard. She will get better at trimming his beard. One side of his beard goes one way and the other side goes the other way.

We had some of that great catfish for lunch today.

It was a good day.

Tough Love?

It is hard for me to believe that you could have a knee replaced one day and go home the next like our new friend, Kenny.
They sent him home with a machine to manipulate his leg 6 hours out of the day. This must be medicine's answer for Tough Love. What happened to in-home physical therapy?
I mean even if physical therapy came with a whip, at least you would have a cheering section and some one to say "Good Job". How is your spouse suppose to know if you are extending your leg sufficiently, I mean, unless they are a physical therapist.

The major problem is that if you do not extend the leg and make it work normally, the knee will be stiff and then you will be limping and then your spine will be out of line and so on.

Another good friend, h2o must have this done this summer and after Kenny's story she is not looking forward to it.

In addition, Guyk is going to have to have this done eventually. One of his knees just goes out from under him when he is on his feet to long. I can just see me now telling him it is time to put his leg in the machine for some manipulation. He will throw the nearest object at me! He might obey a male physical therapist.

Me, I continue to worry about my hips. I have osteopenia so I continue on my tread mill and after that I do my ten deep knee bends as instructed by my physical therapist after my back surgery.

Exercise strengths the muscles and builds new bone or so I am told. I sure hope so, because it is a lot of work on my part.

Tasmanian Devil

The Tasmanian Devil AKA Sassie's Little Sister, the poodle, is back. Her leg seems to be fine now. She runs through the house again at 90 miles an hour. And she is back to being a pain in the ass.

The weather has been beautiful. Cool in the morning and very pleasant all day. The best time in Florida is this time of year.

My sister has lived in the same apartment for about 4 years. When she calls me her name and number appear on my TV screen. A few days ago and again today a person called with the same area code as my sister but with another name showing on the screen. I did not recognize the name the other day so I did not answer the phone. When the phone rang today, I still didn't answer it because I didn't recognize the name. But Guyk answered the phone. I couldn't believe it was my sister. I thought maybe she was calling from a friend's house. My sister stated that person that came up on my TV screen used to have this same number. My sister stated bill collectors called for this person a great deal right after she moved into this new apartment. My sister is going to call and complain to the phone company next week. She is hoping she can find a live person at the phone company but I doubt she will.

Computers don't make errors right? Right!

Hammer

This is a letter to Hammer. On Monday you wrote a wonderful blog about what all you do for your family on any given day. You got a lot of great comments about this blog. But what I found missing was what Hammer does for himself.

All the things you do for your family are great but you need to take care of yourself. If you don't look out for yourself no one else will.

I suggest you get a good treadmill. After the kids are in school and before you start anything else, get on the treadmill for at least 45 minutes and walk fast enough that you raise your heart rate for the entire 45 minutes. You should be breathing hard and sweating. Make a tape or a video of your favorite music, the kind you enjoy. I like Abba and Queen.

This sustained activity on the treadmill will lower your blood pressure, allow you to loose weight, and might even lower the ringing in your ears. At any rate, you will be so tired in the evening that you will sleep and not even notice the ringing in your ears.

This treadmill activity should take place everyday and eventually it will be a habit. You will be doing your children and your wife a favor because you will feel better and you will live longer.

You know you're idiot when......

You know you are an idiot when you put the cold water in the coffee maker, put the filter in the basket, put the coffee in the basket, turn the coffee pot on perk and fail to put the glass coffee pitcher in place to catch the fresh brewed coffee. Therefore, when you return to the kitchen, the coffee is all over the counter.

My coffee pot has a no leak devise when you remove the pitcher to pore a cup of coffee, but it will not hold if the entire pot of coffee is in the basket. The basket just simply over flowed sending coffee and coffee grounds all over.

I would not recommend this as a way to start your day.

Glaucoma

Well, shit. Guyk went to the eye doctor. Now the eye doctor thinks he may have glaucoma in that eye in which he is loosing his sight. Guyk allows he is falling apart. Let's hope not.

He is still having problems with that new drug, Plavix, that his primary doctor put him on. It is a blood thinner. He says he feels drug out and light headed. He is worried too.

He goes back to eye doctor in 2 weeks. The eye doctor started him on eye drops as if he had glaucoma even though the doctor is still guessing.

Such is life.

Time

I got up at 4 AM but really it was 5 AM. This is not as bad as getting up at 4AM but it really is 3AM. Either way I feel like my body is in jet lag.

I get the same thing when we go to Oklahoma. They are on central time but my body is on eastern time.

The time bugs me! I am for leaving the time alone. Granted we must have time zones, but we don't have to have daylight saving time.

Time Flies

Time flies when you are having fun! Right! I wrote my last post on Tues and here it is Friday morning and this is the first time I have had to even open my laptop let along wrote write on my blog.

The end of month/first of the month always wears me out. I keep running out of energy.
I think that is called getting old. I believe I have already arrived.

Guyk goes to doctor this AM for his last antibiotic IV.

We got heart worms done on pups and tomorrow we do advantage for fleas.

Monday Guyk returns to eye doctor.

I tried to order checks from Bank America using their automated system. It did not work. I finally got connected to real person, but they spent 5 minutes trying to sell me something before I could place my check order. I hate when they do that.

Green Green Grass of Home

Porter Wagner died Sunday. He wrote and sang The Green Green Grass of Home. When we were stationed in Turkey in 1965-1968, that was my favorite song. It was my first time out of the US. I was young and stayed home sick.
When we went to the movies, they played the national anthem and showed pictures of the states. They always showed great pictures of Florida.

We were stationed in Adana, Turkey which is a very backward area. The base maintained a bus for transportation to and from the base. We lived in an apartment complex that housed all Americans.

But it was close to the Mediterranean Sea. The base maintained a fuel depot there on the Mediterranean. We were allowed to visit on the week-ends, sleep on the beach and go swimming.

We combed through old ruins of castles on the tops of mountains. These ruins were in their natural state. Occasionally a few gypsy's would be found in the ruins. We were a stone's throw from Cyprus and Israel.

I should not have been so lonesome. There was so much to see. But when you are young it is hard to appreciate these things.

But Guyk, loving history like he does, went to the library and did a lot of reading on the area.

But you can't go back. The Turkey that we knew no longer exits. And our bodies will not allow us to climb mountains any more.

All is well with my world

Guyk wrote a good Sunday school lesson today. His whole blog was good today as usual.
His spirits have risen. I am glad he is no longer down and depressed.

Guyk needs to get all of his teeth pulled. We are making plans to go to Brunswick, Ga where a dentist is that takes our GI dental insurance. Our good friend Catfish has been instrumental in helping us find this dentist. We are going to take the trailer to Georgia in mid Jan. Guyk has an appointment on the 15 of Jan of 2008. Then comes the fun part of dentures.

There is a state park where we plan to park the trailer about 3 miles from the dentist's office. Guyk is hoping for some more good shrimp like Catfish brought us in Helen.

But all he can eat right now are soft foods. He has been needing to get this done for some time. It has now come to a must get this done.

But Guyk's spirits are high so all is right with my world.

The Tasmanian devil had an accident

Little Sister, the poodle pup, AKA Tasmanian Devil, went out side this am. As we came back in, she got out of the lease and went 90 miles an hour under the bed, back through the living room. As she left the living room she ran out of carpet and hit the tile in the kitchen. All of a sudden, her legs were out from under her and she went sliding. When she got up she was limping and she hasn't been the same since.

I was just bitching yesterday about her wanting me to play with her all the time. Well today she has just been very quiet. I felt bad that she hurt herself. Guyk said that children and puppies do these things. That she will be fine. I sure hope so. I miss my Tasmanian Devil.

Little Sister the poodle pup

I had such enjoyment reading down my blog roll yesterday. I didn't get very far because as soon as I set down here comes Little Sister the poodle pup wanting to play. We took a rope like Doyle told us to do, braided it and made a rope toy for Little Sister. She loves it. She wants to carry it everywhere. We put knots in it. She picks it up and shakes it and bangs the knots on the floor. She loves making an impact on her environment.

The same thing applies when I go to the bathroom. Here she comes with her rope toy to play. Play with me!

Wonders never cease! It is raining this morning and it is suppose to cool down a bit. It is about time since it is almost November.

Guyk missed one of his tests yesterday at the diagnostic center so he has to go back on Thursday for the last test.

We are having for lunch today the fresh water fish(can't spell) that Guyk and Paul caught at Rex's place this past Spring.

It is Wednesday so it is trash day. Guess I'll go put it out.

See you later.

My man is blue

Guyk is worried about his health. His MRI & MRA are tomorrow. When he knows how that came out, good or bad, he will have a little more information about the status of his eye. These tests are suppose to show if he has indeed had mini-strokes. If he has not had any stokes, then his eye loss could be low pressure glaucoma. They have ruled out everything else.

I missed his Sunday school lesson yesterday. He said he would work on it for next week. He is a little depressed so all you bloggers come by and say hi.

Thanks.

Getting back to regular routine

I forgot to say that I met V-Man at Helen. After we got home I remembered that I had met Kim. Then I remembered that Kim was V-Man. We didn't have a conversation but that was O.K. I am just an old lady and he is a man of the world. He is on my blog role.

It has been almost 2 weeks since I have exercised. After exercising this morning, my body is yelling at me. It will take a few days to get back into it and then the yelling will stop.

It actually rained this morning. We have been so dry.

I love having my laptop back.

Thanks.

Friday, October 19, 2007

It has been almost a week since I have sat down at my computer. Saturday morning my brother, Jim arrived at our campground. He spent the week-end with us. Before we left to go to the party in Helen, The Hermit and his wife Mariam stopped in to see us. It was great to meet them. They live close to my brother's home.

We took Jim with us to the party. Old friends at the party were Catfish,Erica,Jimbo,Denny,Leslie,

New friends that I met were
Dax Montana,
Elisson
and his wife, (she who must be obeyed),Joan,Sam and Georgia, she did not write a blog, but she did drive a school bus. My brother also drives a school bus so they had a lot in common. Eric, and Zonker, who used to have a blog but got to busy with his job to keep up so he let the blog go, but he still comes to blog meets.

We left Monday morning and got home Tuesday afternoon. It took forever to unload the trailer and do the laundry. Then Thursday Guyk thought his computer was fried.

He took my laptop so I was without a computer. Guyk was in the dumps because he thought his computer was fried. Then help arrived in the name of Zonker. He helped Guyk get his computer back up and running.

So the moral of this story is go to blog meets because you never know when you will meet someone that will be able to help you. Just when you think your life has fallen apart help arrives and once more you are a blogger again.

Friday in Helen

Guyk and I found the nearest walmart from Helen. He stayed with the pups and I went shopping.

This afternoon Catfish brought Guyk 30 lbs of fresh shrimp. Guyk was very happy to get them.

We put the shrimp in bags and in the freezer. Guyk and Catfish have gone back to the party in town. Me and the pups stayed at the trailer, my choice.

We almost froze last night. There was frost on the grass this AM. We bought 2 blankets at walmart.

My brother who lives in Georgia is coming in the morning and spending the week-end with us. Have not seen him for a while. Looking forward to the visit.

It was a good day.

On The Road

We stayed here last night at Oconee Springs park. Pretty but a long way off the road. GuyK was tired and a little bit grumpy but after he ate supper he was better.

Guy took this picture of day breaking on the lake this morning.

What the hell is a meme?

JDP decided that I didn't have enough to do so he decided to tag me for this project, MEME. I had to go to the dictionary and look up the word, if it was a word. The dictionary stated it was an idea, behavior, style.

Guyk was also tagged by JDP so I went to his site to see how to do this.

My blog is a brand new baby. We bought a laptop computer for our vacation this past Spring. Guyk wanted to keep up with his blog while on vacation and also write about our blog meet in Kerrville, Tx. Since we now had two computers, Guyk likes his set on the desk, I wanted to have my own blog.

The worst thing in the world to be is ignorant. And when it came to the blog world, I was ignorant. I did not even know enough to be able to tell his blog world if he was no longer on this earth.

Guyk and many blog friends have helped me. They not only helped me but helped me very willingly and often gave me hints without my asking. And they still do.

My blog took the name of sweetthing because that is what Guyk called me in his blog. I took the name of nickel because when I worked outside my home my bosses often upgraded me to a nickel.

I love being able to blog. I love reading the blogs. I know this is going to be very interesting this coming year with the elections.

Chevy Rose, Jan, Sue, Maeve, and Nancy have been tagged for this crazy thing. Thanks a bunch.

Better to be safe than sorry.

Our local channel is showing how an employee at the landfill found $65,000 in a bag that an armored truck driver had dropped. What the armored driver was doing at the landfill was unknown. The employee is being eyed as a hero for turning the money in to her supervisor.

My theory is that there are so many people around and so many cameras around that it could be a set-up and loss of job and retirement, since it is a county job, would be the result if she did not turn it in and then got caught.

Better to be safe than sorry.

They had better be looking at the armored truck driver. Maybe he dropped it for a friend.

Getting ready for blog meet

We cleaned out our storage cabin and hauled off our old bedding today. Now all we have to do is get the travel trailer ready for the road so we are there for the blog meet.

Guyk has told me how excited he is at meeting old friends and new friends. I am too but not like he is. I stay on the shy side content to stay with my pups and read my book. We will have a good time. Looking forward to seeing all of you.

New bed

Guyk bought me a new bed for our bedroom this morning so we spend this afternoon in a christening session to break it in. We had a good time. We had to put Little Sister in her box since she likes to make it a three some when we are in the bed.

It actually rained this morning. We needed it badly. Guyk put down winter rye grass seed the other day and it has not rained until this AM.

It was a good day.

Tattoo's

I saw on fox news this AM that a woman was very unhappy because she had gone to a lazar person to have her tattoo on her back removed. It was rather large in the middle of her back. Well now she has a large ugly scar instead of a tattoo.

My question is why the hell did she get the tattoo in the first place? She knew it was permanent when she got it. But now she wants to get married to this guy and her tattoo does not fit in with her wedding gown and all these high class people.

This should be a wake up call to all the young people who are currently getting tattoos left and right.

John Quincy Adams Knew About Islam

I found this quote attributed to John Quincy Adams at pettifog

In the seventh century of the Christian era, a wandering Arab of the lineage of Hagar [i.e., Muhammad], the Egyptian, [. . . . . ] Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind. THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST. - TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE . . . Between these two religions, thus contrasted in their characters, a war of twelve hundred years has already raged. The war is yet flagrant . . . While the merciless and dissolute dogmas of the false prophet shall furnish motives to human action, there can never be peace upon earth, and good will towards men.

At one time we knew how to say what we meant without worrying about being politically correct. We also knew how to kick butt. We have fought Islam before and it is immortalized in the Marine Hymn..."...to the shores of Tripoli." And the fight is not over...yet.

This says it all!

I believe this says it all!

End of the month again.

Well, it is the end of the month again. Little Sister got groomed today. After we dropped her at the groomers, we spent the morning at walmart. I have not had time to even read a blog today. We are getting no rain. Guyk put down rye grass so I need to put out the water hoses again.

I got a tooth brush and tooth paste for Little Sister today. Tomorrow will be our first day to try this. Sassie poodle had to have half her teeth pulled because I did not brush them. I vowed not to do that with this pup. This tooth paste is chicken flavored and cost $6. What a rip off.

Dudleys Diary

Please go by and say hello to JDP . He is in need of some TLC from us bloggers. He is a nice guy and he has MS. I read his blog. Guyk said he did too. But I don't always comment on it and neither does Guyk.

Thanks a bunch.

Osmosis

Erica stated in her blog today that because she judged Guyk to be so smart that I must be the 2nd smartest due to osmosis. I sure wish it was that easy. Guyk started reading when he was very young. His family had a lot of school teachers and others that really valued an education. I started reading for pleasure when we were stationed in Turkey because we had no TV. And the only reason I started reading then was because Guyk encouraged me to do so. I started with Micky Spillane.

When I started college, it was like my brain was an empty sponge. I took in everything. But my understanding of world history and American history did not make since to me until Guyk showed me how to look at the whole world and what was going on in it at any one time, rather than an isolated event.

After college I started work for the state and never read another book that was not work related until after I retired. Since that time I have read a lot of books about the romans and other historical novels. Along the way I have tried to pick Guyk's brain. I take notes and often refer back to them.

Guyk has without a doubt impacted my life, but my smartness is all mine. I worked hard for all of it. And it is also something that no one can take away.

The osmosis part can't occur because everything I learn is learned through all my filters of my brain and believe me, I have many. I can parrot Guyk but to actually talk about a subject, I would have to write it down and think about it a while.

Guyk can speak or write on any subject in a manner of minutes. He loves his blog and it shows.

Thanks anyway, Erica.

Neuropathy

I have arthritis in the toes of my feet. Have you seen that commercial where the guy sticks a pitch fork in the man's toes while he is playing cards? That is what my toes feel like sometimes.

As I exercise my feet hurt real bad, but as I continue they cease to hurt until I end my exercise program.

Must be a mind over matter thing. I guess this is better than a pain in the ass?

A good week

This has been a good week. I was able to do upper body exercises and work on the treadmill 7 days in a row. That is a record for me.

It is raining this afternoon, a good rain too. Today is the first day of fall. The love bugs are out and covering everything everywhere.

Guyk goes to the eye doctor tomorrow. He is worried about losing his sight in that one eye.

As soon as I sit down to work on the computer, Little Sister poodle brings her rope toy for me to play with her. Ms Sassie poodle, she sleeps most of the time. Little Sister will be 7 months old this coming Wednesday. Glad we got her.

The Global Warming Scam

Please go over to Guyk's blog and watch this video on the Global Warming Scam. It's just a way for global warming so called experts to get money for this project which is meaningless. And the people of the world are following their lead. Maybe if enough of us link this video and enough people watch the video maybe we can all wake up to how we are being used.

Rushing the season

This is very good for your blood pressure. It is also very good to wake you up if you are sleepy. It is not even October yet. Halloween is still more than 30 days away and already they have Christmas lights on the shelf.

One fine campaign botton

I knew I was going to enjoy the 2008 elections. There is so much material on the Clinton's to work with.

Actors

Orin Wilson who stared in the movie Wedding Crashers is out of rehab and now has a caretaker to follow him around so that he does not indulge in alcohol or drugs. Someone to say, Don't touch that! 24 hours a day.

Well, that is about as helpful as birth control for rabbits. Every 5 minutes you run out to the rabbit hutch and yell, CUT THAT OUT! To late. The male rabbit has already positioned himself behind the female and after an EEK EEK EEK the rabbit falls over with a stupid grin on his face.

Orin can now contend it is not his fault if he gets into the drugs or alcohol. The caretaker was not watching carefully enough.

Maybe he'll come out of this a better actor. I hope so. We are running out of actors that really had character like John Wayne.

Global warming?

NBC news last night showed Greenland melting. The result will be that Guyk and I will now own beach front property even though at the moment we are not even in a flood zone.

I thought it was interesting that they show Florida but not Louisiana & especially New Orleans.

If they were honest about the rise of the water, then they would have to stop talking about rebuilding New Orleans.

Guyk's Sunday School lesson

Please read Guyk's lesson for Sunday School. You won't be disappointed. He does this so well. It seems so easy for him, but actually he puts a lot of time into it.

His Sunday School lesson is the best part of my day on Sundays.

We got a very good rain today. Didn't like the thunder and lightning but the rain was so welcome. We have been so dry.

Tired Puppy this afternoon

This morning I did my treadmill and upper body exercises and this afternoon I did my weed eating. So I am a tired puppy.

Guyk's brother's wife had a heart attack. They put 3 stints in her heart. She is a very small women, very thin, but her blood pressure stays high. And she refuses to quit smoking. They are 9 years younger than us. She has a real hard time doing what the doctor says for her to do. We wish her the best.

Guyk is having a time with his diet. He lost so much weight. Then we went on vacation. His family insisted that he eat. All those old women cooked and were mad if you did not eat. So of course everything was great and tasted so good, so he ate.

Not me. I refused to eat all that stuff. I get started eating all those foods that I should not eat and then all I want to eat is all that sweet stuff. I love cakes and pies and cookies.

But if I am not careful, I will be diabetic too.

Now this is a SIGN.

This is a gift from Guyk. We need these all over the USA.

Never a dull moment.

My sick headache finally turned me loose. Thank goodness. I take an anti-seizure medication daily and that generally holds my headache at bay. I was able to get back on my treadmill today. It felt really good to get back to normal after having a headache for so long.

I'm much happier with our solution for Ms Sassie now. She can't last much longer. When she is asleep, I have to touch her to wake her up and she acts like she doesn't know where she is for a few minutes. She sleeps 90% of her day. She is a wonderful dog. I know everyone that loves dogs has had a dog like her. She is a one of a kind.

Now Little Sister she is an entirely different story. She is all dog and more like a male dog than a female dog. And a yip yip dog. To be so little, it is hard to believe she can make that much noise. She gives me much enjoyment and aggravation all rolled into one pup. Even as I am trying to write this blog, she is wanting me to play ball and will not take no for an answer. Then after throwing the ball for a while, we have to go potty. After we potty she wants to play ball again.

Ms Sassie

Guyk took the cutest picture of Ms Sassie turning up her nose at her hotdog after she did her breathing and I brushed her teeth. We managed to get her toe nails cut this afternoon. They were getting so long.

Guyk went to eye doctor today. He has a hole in his eye. They are sending him to see a specialist in this type of thing. He knew he couldn't see well out of that eye, but they could not find the problem until now. I'm glad they finally found it.

Ms Sassie better

We got a reprieve. Ms Sassie appears to be a bit better so we are going to just wait and see. We know she already has a heart murmur so we are hoping she can pass in her sleep. She mostly just sleeps but she is eating some. I am continuing to use Guyk's nubulizer on her and brushing her teeth. She hates to have her teeth brushed. She will not eat for me after I brush her teeth so Guyk feeds her a hot dog that has been sliced into small pieces.

Little Sister barks for both of them. She is a great yip yip. She loves to play ball.
I am so glad we got her.

I have a sick headache today after my world fell apart yesterday, but I will be better later in the week. I have some good headache pills.

Thanks for all your good thoughts. They were really appreciated.

Read the newspaper without sneezing

I have found that if I read the newspaper on the internet, it will not make me sneeze.
I have even gotten books from the library that make me sneeze. It is very aggravating.

I was a good girl today. I did my treadmill and upper body exercises.

We had that wonderful fried catfish today for lunch. It doesn't get any better than that.

We saw fireflies this spring while we were camping in Okla. I haven't seen fireflies since I was a kid. I recalled this event while I was on the treadmill.

Back to the old grind, again.

I got back to my treadmill today. I have been away from it and my back was starting to get stiff. It worried me because the exercise is a must after back surgery. It is so easy to stop exercising and go back to old habits that are so much more fun. I am hoping for a new treadmill for Christmas. Mine is a walmart special and the walking area is to narrow. I have to be so careful about where I step. I know Guyk will throw it out the door if I fall off of it. So easy does it.

I was just wondering

I had the occasion to open a new tube of Preparation H jel. I expected it to come out of the tube when I squeezed it. Instead nothing happened. When I looked at the tube the end was sealed. It took the point of a pair of scissors to pierce the end.

Do people open this stuff in the store and use it? Or do people put something in the tub that you would not want in you ass hole?

I was just wondering why such a security measure on the stuff? I don't recall it being that way the last time I opened a new tube.

End of the month blues.

I was just bitching the other day about flea meds, heartworms & end of the month bills.

Now it is time to do it again. Oh well, time flies when you are having fun, right?

Spent the morning at wally world and the afternoon putting it away.

Little Sister

This is the cutest little pup and looks just like Little Sister and sounds like Little Sister too. When you click on more, the little dog barks and so does Little Sister.

It doesn't take much to entertain me!

Just another hot day

We got tee shirts from VA Joe today. He send one to Guyk for doing the interview and he was kind enough to send one to me. They are very nice.

It still is a hot August day. Will August never end? This week-end is labor day, finally.

Guyk goes to see doctor again tomorrow.

We had fried catfish for lunch today. It was delicious as usual.

Weed-eating

Today's exercise was weed-eater exercise. I spent about 4 hours in the yard. I feel like it too. Tired. But it was good work and the yard looks nice. Guyk mowed yesterday so I had to weed-eat or feel guilty all day about not doing it.

It was a good day.

A peaceful exercise

I have so much peace while I am on the tread mill. I try to place myself on the lake in Waurika, Ok. The other day on the news they said at an exercise salon a man was making so much noise on his exercise bike that others in the salon could not exercise. They told him to shut up but he continued. The teacher would not do anything. They said he was making grunting sounds and saying,"you go girl". One of the exercisers picked up the man and his bike and threw them again the wall.

Well, so much for that exercise session. There would be no peace found there but lots to talk about. I have never been to a public gym but grunting and bike throwing were not in my thoughts when I thought about going to a gym.

I guess I have just led a sheltered life.

It rained, finally.

It rained yesterday. It is suppose to rain again this week-end. We got about one-half inch.

If you haven't been over to Maeve's bedroom, go look. Boy is she going to be surprised when she gets home.

A Red Rose

I was leisurely reading down my blog role when I clicked on Guyk's blog. I was so surprised to see this beautiful rose. What a wonderful gift and his words of love will last forever. We shared some very passionate love later that day. It was a good day. Thank you, darling. I love you.

HIBISCUS

This hibiscus is so pretty. Guyk bought them Tuesday and we planted them yesterday morning.

It was actually cool when I stepped out the back door with the pups this morning. It felt so good not to be blasted by hot air.

Guyk got his eye appointment done so we are done with doctors for this week.

Maybe the weather man didn't lie and it will rain this week-end as promised.

Wednesday, August 22, 2007

Same old thing, hot and hotter

We got past Guyk's dermatology appointment with flying colors. He has an appointment for this time next year.

We got his x-rays done today. His eye appointment is tomorrow.

Guyk bought 3 Hibiscus plants yesterday. We got them planted this morning.

The weather man is teasing us with news that it may rain this week-end. Hope so. Hot again today.

Guyk's interview posted by VA Joe

Guyk was interviewed by VA JOE and the interview was posted on 8-20-07. He is very proud of this. He made me a copy of it.

We got his blood test today but the doctor failed to request an A1C which is a status report of his diabetes. He has an appointment coming up next week so hopefully we will get that fixed. We didn't get the x-rays done today but we have an appointment for tomorrow. Eventually we will get this new doctor thing broke in.

I am so ready for fall weather.

Monday, August 20, 2007

And the heat goes on.

It is suppose to be 95 degrees today but it feels like 105.

We didn't get the blood test done. The lab was short of help and running way behind. We are going to get it done in the morning before he has his x-rays.

We did get Little Sister's stitches out.

Guyk mowed the lawn and I did the weed eating. We are both very tired. This heat just does you under.

Sunday

I will be so glad to see summer end. It has been so hot and dry. I know those in Texas would like to have some of our dry.

I liked Guyk's Sunday school lesson. It was funny as usual. I don't know how he comes up with all that stuff.

I was a good girl today. I did my weights and treadmill today.

Tomorrow Guyk goes for blood test and Little Sister gets her stitches out.

The Sunday paper already has Christmas items for sale and it is not even Halloween yet.

Saturday, August 18, 2007

Hot and Dry

My body can tell I started my exercise program again. I ache all over more than anywhere else. It feels good to get back to the treadmill.

We drug out all the water hoses again today. We have had no rain for awhile. We have put all these plants and grass in the yard. You can't just let it die.

We are watching this big bad storm Dean along with everyone else. I'd be happy with just some rain. Texas has had its share.

I hope everyone has a good week-end.

Friday, August 17, 2007

Hedges Finished

We finished the hedges today. It looks really nice. It was hot outside even though we did it this morning.

Back to the old grind in the morning. Weights for upper body and treadmill. Yesterday we put in cement squares at the back porch. I handed Guyk the squares from the truck. He said they were not heavy. But my arms were sore this morning.

Out of shape already. We have been working in the yard for a week or so and the exercise program has gone by the wayside. But I only have so much energy. And we have been working hard in the yard so it was a surprise that my arms were sore. Getting old is a bitch but as long as I have that Guyk I have good company and life is good.

LIZARD ALERT Part 2

Little Sister rounded up the lizard today while I was in the shower. She barked and barked at it until Guyk finally had to get up and go see what she was barking at. He got hold of the lizard and put him outside. He was alive but just barely.

Question?

Since Barack Obama was a Muslim as a child, how can he expect to meet other Muslim leaders as the president of the US, when according to the Koran, once a Muslim, always a Muslim. Since he has rejected the Muslim religion, the Koran directs other Muslims to take his life.

Acronyms & Virtual sex

Guyk found a web site of acronyms for me. I keep going to him and asking him what does this mean. The list goes on and on and on.

Our local TV channel wanted to know if you flirted on line were you being unfaithful to your spouse? They agreed among themselves that you would be. They stated that some people spend so much time on line with a virtual partner that their real live partner goes by the wayside.

The real live partner must not do much back rubbing, hand holding or any of those other thousand little things that my real partner does for me.

It will be a sad day when all there is available is a virtual partner. But thanks to my real life partner, I have that option because I have learned how to write on my blog.

Hedges

We spent all morning putting in the hedges. We are both very tired but the shrubs look so nice.

We had a good day.

Sunday, August 12, 2007

Planting shurbs

We started to build a bed today to put shrubs in. Guyk has a picture on his blog of our handy work. We got 3 1/2 inches of rain this afternoon so I don't have to water in the morning. We are getting up early in the morning to finish this project.

Little Sister gets her stitches out Tuesday. The way she runs around you would not know she has stitches.

Life is great

Guyk was interviewed by the Military Bloggers . He was very pleased to be asked and I was impressed.

Guyk also wrote a fantastic article called the Politician Game of 5 favorite and 5 least favorite American politicians. I requested a copy from him. It is a great article and one well worth reading, if you can find the time. If you don't have the time, take the time, the article is well worth the effort.

I went shopping yesterday and bought Guyk a bible so that he can continue his bible stories on Sundays. We did not have a bible in the house.

I also bought myself a new dictionary. I am having to think now and I just love it.

Guyk bought me flowers today for the back yard. I put them in the flower bed. He took pictures and put them on his blog while I planted the flowers. We had nothing in that space and the pretty blue flowers were just a fit.

My trials & tribulations of doctors & vets

The exercise of the day was weed-eating in this sauna called Florida living. I was doing great until I broke the weed-eater. Guyk must buy a new one. He is in charge of buying all high-tech equipment!

Since I am no longer working outside the home, I don't have contact with other women except on this blog. I was surprised at the number of women who have the same problem I do when it comes to getting their old man to the doctor. Guyk has stated several times I was directly responsible for saving his life because I insisted he go to VA after he retired from the Air Force. He only had high blood pressure at first, but then on one of his appointments, they found he had diabetes. He could have gone into a coma and I would have never known what happened until it was to late.

HAMMER, being the typical male and having the same thought pattern as Guyk, said that he thought that doctors learned their craft from the Spanish inquisition.

Guyk stated he did not care that they learned their craft at the Spanish inquisition as long as they were not late for his appointment!

Debbie said if it was not for good women like us where would our men be.

Rockync said she agreed that spouses were terrible when it comes to going to the doctor.

Chevy Rose stated her old man invented Grouchiness.

Pamibe set up the appointment for her old man to have his colonscope. She said he allowed drinking that awful stuff before hand was the worst part.

Doyle who I thought was a male, until yesterday, when Guyk and I were working in the yard and we were discussing what Doyle had said about a chew toy for Little Sister. Doyle had no comment on her old man but she did have a good idea for using a rope with knots as a chew toy.

So now that Little Sister is fixed and doing so well and Guyk made it through his new doctor's appointment, I can relax because the new doctor is a female and Guyk likes her.

Since we still have blood tests, x-rays and colonscope to do yet, we will continue this saga at a later time.

Sorry, Rocky

On August 7, in the comment section, Rocky made a joke about being fixed (Little Sister, the poodle, was going to the vet) and I proceeded to bitch about all the bad things that being fixed had done to me.

I wanted to apologize to Rocky because I failed to tell the whole story. I had endometriosis and at the time (1969) a hysterectomy was the only answer.

We were stationed in Great Falls, Montana. We lived in base housing which consisted of a long row of townhomes. These townhomes were connected to each other. The walls were thin. Guyk and I could not have sex because it just hurt me to much. Well, after I got fixed and got well from the surgery, we were like newly weds. Guyk would come home for lunch. The women and children sat on their front porches a lot.

When Guyk would come home at lunch time, the women would all laugh and joke and tell him they knew why he was home and where he was going when he came into the house. Guyk and I swore they all gathered in the attached townhome and listened through the wall. We didn't mind really. We were having a good time.

So Rocky, I left you another message in the August 7 comment section.

That man of mine!!!

Little Sister is running around just like she always did, jumping on beds and into laps. She would chase the ball or her tee shirt that is in knots if she could get somebody to throw them. So she carries around the tee shirt and the ball and plays by herself. I am so glad she is as good as new. She gets her stitches out next week.

I had to take Guyk to a new doctor yesterday. I had switched doctors so he decided to go to the same one as me. Guyk hates to go to the doctor. He went but kicking and screaming the whole way. The doctor was late seeing him. I thought Guyk was going to have a stroke, he was so mad that he had to wait.

I can see why married men live longer, if they have wives that care about them, because if Guyk were single, he would never go to the doctor until the ambulance took him there. He maxed out on the grouch scale yesterday.

Now we just have to go back for blood tests, x-rays, and colonoscope.!!!!!

I intend to keep him around for as long as I can no matter how grouchy he gets.

Terrorist and Hostage

Guyk put a link on his blog of a terrorist and hostage game. He is having a ball with it. A fellow blogger sent it to him.

I went through the house this morning looking for Little Sister to see what she was into since she can't have any breakfast. I have looked in all the rooms and can't find her and then then there she is behind me!

I will be glad when she gets home from vet and we do not have to go that way again soon. My only consolation is that I will be spared the mess of an animal in heat. We have reframed from visiting a friend's home in Lakeland because they have a male dog and we did not know when Little Sister would be in heat. Now we will be able to go and take Little Sister to show her off. We do not take Sassie because it is to hot and Sassie can't get her breath. Their male dog is just a 2 year old and he is all over Sassie, just like Little Sister.

Little Sister to vet tomorrow

We took Little Sister to the vet today. They are going to spay her tomorrow. She is due to come into heat soon. I don't want to deal with the heat thing. Messy. Plus sometimes there are dogs running loose and we don't have a fence. I sure don't want a male dog hanging around.

She doesn't have to spend the night. We take her in at 8am and suppose to have her back home by 6pm. The worst part will be when she finds out she can't have any breakfast.

They are going to put a microchip in her while she is out too. The family camps on military bases want your pet with a microchip.

It will be a long day for me but will be glad when I get her back home.

Thanks.

Housekeeping

This picture is the epitome of how I feel about housekeeping. You do the dishes, they get dirty again, sweep the floor, it gets dirty again. Make the bed, have to unmake it to go to bed, and so on...........

Panic attack

This morning I was trying to find something to do because I knew that Guyk wanted to sleep in. We have to close the bedroom door so the pups can't jump on the bed and wake him up. I have to do this as soon as me and the pups get up.

So I decided to write on my blog. First windows would not come up because it had some problems. Gateway used it's go back program to find a place where there were no problems. That got done. Then I had no server. We had just had roadrunner install a router so my laptop would work faster. I couldn't believe I had no internet.
Panic sat in. I was so happy being a blogger and now it was gone. My whole day is ruined. Am I addicted already? Well, I guess so. Doesn't matter. Wake up Guyk.

He was real sweet about getting up. It took him less than one minute to fix the problem. Boy am I glad he is around and knows how to fix this sucker.

I know windows is punishing me because I closed two tabs at the same time yesterday. Well, no more of that. If windows says don't do that, then by golly don't do that.

Must not fuck with windows or windows will get you.

Since this morning it has been a great day and I have learned still one more way to do something on this computer. Guyk went to pick up his guns that he had to wait 3 days for and I had a good work-out program with weights and treadmill.

Tomorrow's exercise program is to put in 180 centipede plugs in the lawn. I can't wait. But if it works right, our lawn will look much better.

The sun was shining brightly

It was a glorious day. The sun was shinning. It has been raining for several days. I can remember not to long ago, I was bitching because we had had no rain. I felt like the ugly step-sister because it was raining all around us but not on us. When it finally decided to rain, it rained and rained.

I was a good girl today. I did my upper body exercises and my treadmill. We got Advantage on the pups.

The plan is to write on my blog and then go do my weed-eating. Guyk mowed the lawn yesterday morning. The weed-eating is my job. Then in the morning I will be free to do my exercise program.

Guyk had a long phone call from Catfish today. He is going to the blog meet in Helen. We are glad we are going to see Catfish and his wife again. They have been good friends.

It will be fun to see all the bloggers again that we have met and the ones we have not met yet.

Be glad you can piss and moan.

I hate the end of the month, first of the month. Make out bills. Do flea meds on pups. Heart guard on pups. This past month has been especially hectic with new pup.

We have changed doctors. Guyk has appointment with new doc next week. I had to search records on when all important stuff got done. I think I have about got it all together.

The pup goes to vet on Monday. We are not going to breed so want to talk about spaying for pup.

It has rained all day and is still raining. Flea meds will have to wait until tomorrow when maybe the sun will shine. I use Advantage and it is a topical.

I made Guyk a meat loaf with fresh garlic, bell peppers and lots of jalapenos. It became a spicy meatloaf.

Guyk is taking a nap. Must get back to treadmill and start this month right.

Guyk had cable people hook up laptop so that now it is fast. We thought about another sit on desk computer, but this is much cheaper.

I must be thankful I have so little to complain about. Thanks for dropping by.

My baby is asleep with both our babies on the top of him

Yesterday we took this little ball of fur called Little Sister to the groomers. Imagine my surprise when we picked up the transformation of this little ball of fur. She became a beautiful toy poodle. I could not believe this was the same dog. I believe she was surprised too because now she could see the world. It took her all day before she could become the Tasmania devil again. She runs through the house at break neck speeds and aggravates Ms Sassie. When she did that I knew it was her.

Lizard Alert!!!!!!!

As I was coming into the house the other day with the poodles, a lizard snuck into the kitchen as I opened the back door. I watched for him for a time, because they always scare me. I hated that I could not catch him and put him back outside.

I had forgotten all about the little sucker until this morning when I moved some potholders on the kitchen counter and he jumped out at me. I screamed of course. Guyk yelled what's the matter. I told him LIZARD ALERT!!!!

The lizard remains in the kitchen I guess waiting to scare me one more time.

Our first grooming.

Our new poodle pup, Little Sister, goes for her first grooming appointment tomorrow. She is in a constant state of wiggling except when she is asleep. I would not want to be the one that grooms her. I am also apprehensive about leaving her. You have to trust people to do their job and take care of your pup or do it yourself. If I did it, she would be a raggedy pup. I fell out with the person that groomed Ms Sassie. They used an electric razor. Her facial area would be down to her bare skin. We have not taken Ms Sassie for grooming in months. She is loosing her hair anyway and she can't get her breath. We just try to keep her comfortable.

Sassie Poodle and Sassie's Little Sister

Sassie poodle will be 14 years old in December. We came home from vacation with a new poodle pup, we named, Sassie's Little Sister. We named her this because the name is easily transferable when we only have the pup. Little Sister was 5 months old yesterday. She is so smart. She is almost potty trained.

Before vacation we could come home from the grocery store and be home for 15 to 20 minutes and Sassie would not even know we were home. I would have to go pet her to wake her up. She would be sleeping so soundly that I could not tell if she was breathing. My heart ached. But now with Little Sister, she keeps me so busy and laughing all the time, my heart is lighter for poor little Sassie.

It is strange because Little Sister torments Sassie, yet Sassie seems to be better over all. She eats better and runs around more trying to get away from Little Sister. But Sassie still looses her air when she moves to fast. Little Sister is relentless and has no guilt about pestering the old dog.

Little Sister was just chasing a piece of towel we tied into a knot, but yesterday, she chased the tennis ball when I threw it. Previously, she would bark at the tennis ball but not chase it. I threw the rotten towel away. The ball requires much more effort on Little Sister's part and it is a lot of fun for me to throw it and watch her slip and slide on the floor.

Now Little Sister has much less energy to chase Sassie. Sassie is a loving little poodle but Little Sister is aggressive and barks a lot. Instead of giving you a hug, Little Sister bites you. We are still working on the COME command. She only comes when she wants whatever you have in your hand to eat.

I hope to see major improvements by the time she is 6 months old.

Plug that hole!

I pretended I was in the movie, "Pretty Women" where the star covers the divots with her shoe after the polo game. Actually, we moved plugs of grass from one place in the yard to another and filled the original hole with dirt. When you have lots of money you go buy the plugs and place them where needed. Oh, well, we had a good time on a good project to improve the looks of our lawn.

Tomorrow, more of the same exercise.

How great to be a blogger.

A lot of you have told me that you feel you know me because Guyk has talked about me so much. I feel the same way about a lot of you because Guyk has talked about how much he enjoys talking to you and reading your blogs. In addition, several of you are responsible for Guyk having a blog.

Guyk's spirit was so uplifted when he began his own blog. He is so intelligent and he has a way of telling a really good story. When we go on trips, he gives me history lessons on the various areas as we pass through. Makes the trip shorter.

My blog has been made so much more enjoyable because I have met so many of you. When I met you, I had not read your blogs because Guyk spent so much time at the computer and I am a slow reader. Plus his office is set up for him, chair and all. But since we came back from vacation, I have taken over the laptop and created my own space in the dinning room.

If you have not been to a blog meet, you should really try to go. I am basically a shy person but I allowed Guyk to push me into the blog mets we have attended because I knew how much he wanted to go.

On our way to Kerrville, Texas, Guyk continued to tell me about those of you that he hoped would attend. I had met Catfish and Livey previously in Georgia at Catfish's home. Catfish and his wife live in the woods in Georgia. They also have plenty of room to park an RV. We did not have an RV at the time, but we do now.

At Kerrville, I met Shoe and her children, Erica, Becky, the shoe polish culprit, Hammer, Walrilla and Robert, Leslie, Jerry the confabulator, Denny, Jimbo, Matt(who I just discovered is the Baboon Pirate), Jerry Wiley, Jim Seigler, Nancy and her husb and Richie the pup.

While we were at Kerrville Guyk turned 65. The group gave him an hilarious birthday party. They gave him placks telling him how great he was and signed them on the back. He treasures them very much.

After Kerrville, I met Rex and Denise, Rex's dad Hershel, and Dear Marian and Dear Bob at Rex's hunting lodge at the Christmas Place. They have up their 4 of July plans to put us up for a few days. We were on our way home from Oklahoma.

It wasn't until we got home, that Guyk set me up a blog site with the help of several of you great bloggers. It was at that time that I first saw your blogs. Some of you have been at it awhile. Others are fairly new but not as new as me.

All of you have made me feel very welcome. You have encouraged me and made me feel very special. In addition, it is easier to go to my exercise program because you have praised me so much for doing it.

You have enriched my life so much. I am very proud to be on your blog role.

Thanks.

It was a good day.

While I was getting dressed for my exercise program, my mate decided to exercise his right as husband and it sounded like a good idea so I decided to exercise my right as wife. My weight lifting program and my treadmill exercise was good probably because I had a good start with bedroom acrobatics.

The day was complete with fresh green beans, new potatoes, corn, corn bread, and fresh tomatoes.

The lesson for the day is how to use bookmarks when blog rolling will not work.

What a day!

I went to the eye doctor this morning and then I was not able to see for hours and hours after they dilated my eyes. The good part is I do not have to go back for a year.

Our neighbor was busy attempting to kill armadillos as we went to the eye doctor. Guyk and the neighbor are going to make a joint effort to make them go away.

We stopped by the vegetable market on the way home from the doctors office. Between the two of us we could not remember that we needed lettuce. We discovered the watermelon we bought was bad after we got home.

My mentor has informed me that I must check all my links for accuracy once I have posted my blog. He is going to show me how.

This blog is turning into work, but I love learning new things.

Here's hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Well the security situation was solved today. We managed to get it down loaded after calling them on the phone.

The I hate Walmart song on joated is exactly how Guyk feels about walmart. He often tells me that I walk slow except when I enter walmart. Then he states he sees me one minute and the next I am gone.

I liked Chevy Rose's article and Guyk's comment on it.

Leslie has the answer to Erica's too many boobs on our blogs. I could not wait to see how Erica would answer this one, but I soon found it in the comment section. Best laugh of the day.

I found Erica at Jimbo's place too, in the comment section.

BobG was a good read today. Guyk and I throughly enjoyed it.

Thanks for coming by my blog again.

My frustration overflowth!

I had to go to the doctor today. This was enough to frustrate me but then the computer put a pop up on the screen that said my security was expiring and did I want to renew. The pop up stayed on screen a moment and then was gone. I could not get any straight forward answers from security. Then Guyk tells me that the pop up might be a virus.

By now I am ready for my nervous breakdown. Back home from doctor, open computer, look at security, it says it is fine, no action needed.

What a relief. Now I can enjoy my blog again.

Dear George

There is no way I can compete with Guyk. I don't even try. Did you read his Sunday school lesson on his blog today? I can't wait for part 2.

Guyk is a redneck, and always will be. I am a women's libber when he allows me to be.

Thanks for your comment. Please come by again.

There is a method to my madness.

I completed another exercise program this morning before I would allow myself to open my computer. Boudicca contends that most people can't handle this kind of exercise mentally or physically. But there is a method to my madness, because in July of 2006, I had a laminectomy with fusion of spinal discs 4 & 5. This was all pinned together with 4 titanium screws. In addition, I have osteopenia.

Exercise builds new bone. In addition, exercise makes your muscles stronger and allows your bones to work easier. My back surgery was very successful because I had a good surgeon, good home care, and I am addicted to exercise because I can remember what it was like prior to surgery. If I fail to exercise, I will be back to square one again because I am 65 years old now. The older you get the easier it is to loose the strength you have built up.

Becky states she rides her bike 6 miles a day which is great except she is dependent on the weather. I use to ride my bike 20 miles each week-end when I worked. It is great to be outdoors when you exercise.

Erica needs help in getting her exercise program started. The longer you wait the harder it gets. Erica, find you a good looking personal trainer, today!!!!!

Taken for granted

Guyk said on my blog today that he told me he was proud of me. But Guy is always proud of me and I forget about him when I am writing on the blog. He is family so I guess he doesn't count. I take him for granted a lot. But he is my rock and I am very dependent on him. I do not mind picking up after him, because I can remember the time when I wished he was around to make a mess for me to pick up. We both spoil each other and that is perfectly alright in my book. He will always be the love of my life.

That's a girl, sweetthing!

I did my upper body exercises with 10 lb weights and stayed on the tread mill for 45 minutes. The trouble with the tread mill is that you don't have a cheering section, where at the lake there was always someone to cheer me on. So I must rely on my new blogger friends to say good job!

We worked in the yard and had some of that great catfish for lunch.

It was a good day. Thanks for coming by.

Brain Dead?

After I wrote it's all in how you look at it, I found several bloggers who had been there and done that.

The ability to be a blogger makes it a very much smaller world. But it's also like work because as Guyk keeps telling me, I must write today and everyday if I expect other bloggers to read my site.

As I read other bloggers, I found I throughly enjoyed MOM IS WHACKO . Best laugh I have had all day except for new pup when she is tired. She is on the leash & Sassy & I are going outside to potty, the pup becomes a rag mop. She just slides across the kitchen floor standing only when we actually open the back door.

Thanks for coming by my site. I'm brain dead after taking all that junk to the landfill. Two trips. Our yard looks so much better.

Thanks again.

LOOK MOM! NO HANDS!

My exercise today consisted of using the weed-eater while Guyk got to play with his toy. As you can see, he is having a good time. No pictures of me. I was covered head to toe with long shirt and pants because all that stuff eats me alive. The weed-eater always manages to throw something at me and making me cuss. I feel better now that it is done.

It's all in how you look at it.

I was amazed at Chevy Rose's article on 7-18-07. Not only surprised at what she said & how she said it but I rolled on the floor laughing & I was amazed at her ability to think in this manner.

Here I am very serious about physical exercise, in fact, serious about everything, & she does and exercise in semantics!

Guyk and I graduated from college after he retired. His degree was in history and mine was in psychology.

I chose to work for the state of Florida for the dept of children and families. Humor was frowned upon. Being appropriate & politically correct was the name of the game.

Then there were the forms. Fill in the appropriate spaces with no mistakes.

Since I retired several years ago, I have tried to move away from this cubicle but after so many years of training it still remains hard to break out of the box.

Thanks Chevy Rose for making my day so much lighter. You have a great gift in how you look at the world. Thanks.

Thanks for the links

I want to thank Livey,Erica,Chickie, and
Joated, for the links to my new site. I would have done it earlier but Guyk was grumpy and
wouldn't show me how.

sorry, sorry, sorry

I apologize to all you great bloggers. my last post was all caps and I was informed by Guyk that that was like yelling at every one. Sorry.

I got back on my tread-mill this morning. It was very hard to get back on it since I have been away from it for over 3 months while we have been on vacation. But I was able to see the lake in Okla where we fished while I walked. Exercise is addictive too. now all I have to do is find the energy to exercise and write this blog, what the hell I'm retired, right?

The puppy learned to jump on the couch and the bed. There will be no sleeping late now!!!!!!

testing one and a two and a three and a

HELLO BLOG WORLD

I am brand new to the blog world. I love the fact that the older generation no longer has to be shut-in unless they just want to be. Some seniors are afraid of the internet, but others are very active in this rapid communication that can be not only about bad things but good things too.

My husband and I grew up with the understanding that at a certain age this is what you are expected to do. No more. Now seniors can do whatever they feel they are big enough to do.

I would enjoy hearing from other seniors who are retired military wives, love dogs, like exercise, and love being alive today in this scary but wonderful world.
Testing one two and a
