On August 7, in the comment section, Rocky made a joke about being fixed (Little Sister, the poodle, was going to the vet) and I proceeded to bitch about all the bad things that being fixed had done to me.
I wanted to apologize to Rocky because I failed to tell the whole story. I had endometriosis and at the time (1969) a hysterectomy was the only answer.
We were stationed in Great Falls, Montana. We lived in base housing which consisted of a long row of townhomes. These townhomes were connected to each other. The walls were thin. Guyk and I could not have sex because it just hurt me to much. Well, after I got fixed and got well from the surgery, we were like newly weds. Guyk would come home for lunch. The women and children sat on their front porches a lot.
When Guyk would come home at lunch time, the women would all laugh and joke and tell him they knew why he was home and where he was going when he came into the house. Guyk and I swore they all gathered in the attached townhome and listened through the wall. We didn't mind really. We were having a good time.
So Rocky, I left you another message in the August 7 comment section.

Nickel, you don't owe me an apology for anything. This is your blog and you get to talk about anything you want. I must apologize for being so glib, not realizing, of course, that this was a tender subject for you. I haven't exactly told my whole story either. See, I also had several surgeries in my 20's that finally resulted in a total hysterectomy. That was 25 years ago so I know how tough some things are. Nice not to have periods, I like that part, but losing all those hormones so young has taken its toll. I was fortunate to have had my two birth sons before all this happened and my doctor didn't believe in tacking the bladder, thank God, since that has caused so many women so much discomfort. So, let me apologize to you for bringing up some hard memories for you. My comment was meant to be light hearted not mean spirited.
Thinking about thin walls... I left the window open once in the townhome I was living in... and at some point I realized I didn't hear the kids playing and screaming outside anymore. hahahaha... Yaa... I remembered to close the window after that...
In my 20's we had a neighbor that had sex only on sundays at 3 pm.
I think the whole complex heard that woman get it on.
Thanks, Rocky, you made my day. It is 6am. Guyk is asleep. The pups are at my feet and I am having my coffee and talking you. Thanks again.
VWBug, you know what they say, when the children get quiet they are up to something. Thanks.
Maeve, well, I guess you didn't have to look at the clock to know what time it was. He/she must have gotten home in a timely fashion.
Thanks, you made me laugh this morning.
